Will These Ever Stop?
Our communities are currently laden with violent crimes. In the U.S.A. alone, the FBI estimated over 1.16 million violent crimes (murder and non-negligent homicides, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults) in 2014. Compared to the rest of the world, the U.S.A. is not even in the list of top 100 countries with high murder rates, based on the United Nations latest report. Even in this 21st century, men are still being barbarically beheaded. The media is filled with so much horrible news that one feels very unsafe in public places. Sometimes, it even feels very unsafe to travel or even send little children to school. So, will things ever get better?
The truth is that a world that strips itself of God truly strips itself of good, because God is good. How can a world that thrives in rejecting God hope to overcome evil? How can nations whose policies reject God retain godliness in their streets? How can schools rid themselves of God and not fill their classes with disrespectful children? Remember the scriptures "as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient" (Rom. 1:28). Men used to shudder when they hear of mass shootings, stabbings, kidnappings, rapes and terrorist attacks, but such news are so frequent these days that they appear to have little effect on people.
Beloved, the truth is that we live in the end-times. We are approaching the midnight mark and the closer we are to the midnight, the worse things get; no matter how hard our politicians try. The Lord told us long ago that these perilous times shall come with lots of evil (2 Tim. 3:1-7). He told us that iniquity shall abound (Mat. 24:12) and that evil men will continue to wax worse (2 Tim. 3:13). Such are men who have made themselves the enemies of godliness and have chosen to oppose anything done to glorify God; no matter how such benefits the society. They rally to take down anything that reminds men of God and they fund activities that oppose God’s word. They have so influenced the society that many politicians are forced to play by their rules. How many schools would rather teach immorality than pray? How many public places would rather advertise things that generate violence than advertise godly programs? How often do we see groups rise up and influence authorities to remove things that are related to Christianity from public places? Ours is a generation of people that have chosen not to retain God in their minds; given up to a reprobate mind to do things that are not convenient. It is therefore time to heed the counsel of our Lord Jesus to the daughters of Jerusalem who wept for Him. He told them "daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children" (Lk. 23:28).
The news is not all bad! A time is coming when these this world will exist without those crimes. Very soon, there will be a world without violence. When that time comes, the world's weapons of warfare will be so unused that men will have to invent other beneficial uses for them. In those days, the media will only share good news because there won't be bad news. Children will play with no worries of being kidnapped. The world will have so much peace that military budgets will become unnecessary. In that world, Jesus will be in-charge for 1000 years. He, as the Prince of Peace, will fill the world with peace. See what the scriptures says will happen among the nations of the earth; "...they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more" (Is. 2:4; Mic. 4:3). During that millennial reign of our Lord Jesus Christ, the hatred that currently fills this world will be replaced with love, and bitterness with joy. Then, this world will be full of comfort, truth and the fear of God. Another good news is that if you take part in the rapture, you will reign with our Lord Jesus Christ in those days. This is why the IGMC vision encourages us to be ready for the rapture. Are you ready?
